How do you approach a sensitive, high-stakes subject with the gravity it deserves? In partnership with Crime+Investigation, Cue Productions developed Anatomy of a Stalker—a deep-dive audio series that moves beyond what appeared on the headlines to explore the minds of perpetrators and the resilience of survivors. Through meticulous pre-production and immersive sound design, we managed to create a gripping narrative.
Stalking is a crime often misunderstood or sensationalised in the media. Our client, Crime+Investigation, wanted to produce a series that stripped away the tropes and looked at the hard facts: Why does it happen? Who are the people behind it? And how does the legal system fail or succeed in protecting victims?
The project required our full-service approach, meaning Cue was responsible for everything from the initial conceptualisation to the final master. Because the subject matter involved vulnerable individuals and legal complexities, the brief demanded a high level of sensitivity, ethical rigor, and a premium audio aesthetic.
Since this was an audio-only project, the heavy lifting happened long before a single microphone was turned on. The success of the show relied entirely on our ability to solve complex narrative and technical challenges.
We focused on:
Anatomy of a Stalker has been recognised as a benchmark for how true crime should be handled: with care, intelligence, and purpose.
Listeners have responded most strongly to the Psychological Deep Dives. Rather than just telling a story of a crime, each episode breaks down the why. By the time a listener finishes an episode, they haven't just heard a story; they’ve learned to identify patterns of behavior, from the "intimacy seeker" to the "resentful stalker."
The audience often remarks on the balance of the show, it is undeniably intense, but the high production value and Ruchira’s steady, journalistic tone make it a safe space for learning about a dangerous reality.

For Cue, Anatomy of a Stalker represents the pinnacle of our audio-only production capabilities. It proves that when you invest heavily in the pre-production and ethical framework of a show, the final product resonates much more deeply with the audience.
This wasn't just a podcast; it was a responsibility. We had to solve for the 'unseen'—the safety of our guests and the accuracy of the psychology. The result is a piece of work that entertains and informs its audience.
