Case Study

Deep Dive by SailGP

Global sailing league SailGP needed an immersive audio platform ahead of their championship season to give die-hard fans a deeper look into the sport than a standard broadcast allows. By partnering with Cue to launch Deep Dive, they bypassed traditional sports media outlets and built their own dedicated content asset.

Hosted by Olympic sailor Stevie Morrison and America's Cup veteran David 'Freddie' Carr, the show delivers statistical performance analysis, race predictions, and behind-the-scenes drama directly to a global fanbase.

Build Authority

Lots of opportunities for athletes to build personal brands.

Long-form content, like podcasts, offer a naturally-better way of establishing industry leadership or personal brand status.

Hosting a sports podcast will give athletes the opportunity to showcase their area of expertise, earn trust, establish themselves as a leader in their field, and pitch themselves as a household name.

Market Clarity

Engage with fans during off-seasons.

For any loyal sports fan, their passion doesn’t just die when the referee blows the whistle. Or, when the judge declares the winner. It goes home with them where they crave additional, behind-the-scenes content - like event recaps, athlete interviews, press conference coverage, future predictions, and more.

It’s easy to create this type of content with a sports podcast, and doing so can be a great alternative to going quiet during an off-season. It’s good to keep momentum, and a consistent publishing schedule is one of the keys to success.

Fans can stream episodes on-the-go.

Podcast episodes are incredibly easy for people to download and listen to, from wherever they are. They’re extremely versatile, meaning listeners don’t have to be tied to a computer screen to engage.

They can be out running errands, commuting to work, or simply on a walk. There’s next to no effort in listening to an episode of a podcast, and once downloaded, it can be replayed at any time, increasing listener retention.

Audience Growth

An engaging way to grow a loyal, dedicated, and invested audience.

Because podcasts are really accessible, listeners can tune into your show from anywhere around the world, making them the perfect tool for reaching new audiences. There’s something about audio that helps to build a tight-knit community amongst listeners, and that can add real value to your business.
