Tech Open Air: Capturing Europe’s Interdisciplinary Technology Festival

Cue Productions partnered with Tech Open Air Berlin to record live keynotes, panel debates, and popup studio interviews across the festival.

How do you record, process, and publish live main-stage keynotes, panel debates, and interactive workshops across a multi-day technology festival? Cue Productions partnered with Tech Open Air (TOA) in Berlin to manage on-site media operations. By establishing dedicated studio setups and fast-turnaround editing pipelines, the team captured insights from global founders, investors, and creative leaders.

The Brief

Tech Open Air brings together thousands of attendees in Berlin to examine the intersection of technology, science, art, and business. Featuring hundreds of international speakers across multiple stages, TOA required an experienced media production team to capture stage talks, conduct live interviews, and produce digital content for attendees and global audiences.

The event required a complete media setup capable of managing variable live acoustics, tight stage schedules, and fast post-production delivery. Every recording needed to reflect the high-energy, creative culture of TOA while maintaining professional broadcast standards.

How We Made It Work: Multi-Stage Capture and Rapid Post-Production

To capture live main-stage keynotes alongside dedicated creator interviews, Cue Productions deployed an on-site team and a structured engineering pipeline.

We focused on:

  • On-Site Popup Recording Studio: Built a dedicated audio studio space within the festival grounds to record interviews with keynote speakers, founders, and industry leaders immediately after their stage appearances.
  • Live Acoustic Management: Festival environments feature heavy background noise, music stages, and crowd activity. Using directional microphones and real-time audio isolation, the team secured clean vocal tracks in noisy open-air settings.
  • Dual Video and Audio Workflows: Captured high-definition video feeds alongside multi-track audio to deliver content ready for YouTube, social media clips, and podcast platforms.
  • Rapid Editing Pipeline: Applied multi-track speech processing, level balancing, and noise reduction to ensure talks and interviews were processed and formatted for quick digital release.

The Results

The collaboration provided Tech Open Air with a structured media archive and immediate digital content assets.

  • Broad European Reach: Distributed keynotes and founder interviews to a global audience of tech professionals, investors, and creators.
  • Multi-Format Content Delivery: Produced long-form stage recordings, short-form video highlights, and audio interviews across digital channels.
  • Consistent Broadcast Finish: Maintained clean speech clarity across live outdoor panels and studio interview sessions.
