Greg Does S**t Different: Unconventional Business Lessons and Honest Conversations

How does an underwear entrepreneur turn a humble startup concept into a multi-million-pound global brand? Produced in partnership with Step One, Cue Productions supported Greg Does S**t Different. Hosted by Step One CEO Greg Taylor, the series cuts through generic business cliches to offer direct, practical advice alongside candid conversations with leaders across sports, health, and business.

The Brief

From school-ground hustling and professional rowing to building Step One into a global direct-to-consumer apparel brand, Greg Taylor built his business by questioning traditional corporate playbook methods. With Greg Does S**t Different, Taylor set out to create a podcast that avoided polished PR talk in favour of honest, down-to-earth conversations on resilience, health, and entrepreneurship.

Featuring guest thinkers and doers from various sectors, the show required a crisp, clean audio finish that matched the host's direct style. Every episode needed to maintain conversational flow while ensuring that technical post-production kept the focus on practical insights.

How We Made It Work: Studio Quality for Candid Conversations

To bring Greg Taylor’s unvarnished interview style to life while maintaining high audio standards, Cue established a structured post-production pipeline.

We focused on:

  • Audio Clean-Up and Restoration: Guests recorded across different locations and environments. Audio restoration tools were applied to remove background noise, fix room echo, and balance voice levels across all tracks.
  • Focused Narrative Editing: Long-form, candid discussions can easily wander off topic. Our editing team structured each conversation to keep the focus on practical business lessons and personal experiences.
  • Consistent Brand Audio Package: We integrated subtle music transitions and a clean sonic setup that reflected the straightforward identity of Step One without feeling over-produced.
  • Reliable Post-Production Pipeline: From dialogue editing and level balancing to final mastering, Cue managed technical execution so the team could focus on guest curation and content direction.

The Results

Greg Does S**t Different provided Step One with an authentic brand-building channel, connecting founder story-telling directly with customers and business enthusiasts.

  • Authentic Brand Platform: Created a direct space for Step One's founder to share business insights and build trust with a global audience.
  • Clear Educational Value: Delivered direct, practical advice on scaling businesses, overcoming setbacks, and maintaining personal focus.
  • Consistent Audio Standard: Maintained clean audio quality across remote recordings, ensuring conversations remained easy to follow.

What Listeners Value

Listeners value the unfiltered, practical honesty. Instead of scripted corporate advice, each episode offers a grounded look at what it actually takes to build a brand, navigate failure, and challenge industry standards.

Supporting Unconventional Storytelling

Interviews featuring remote guests from various backgrounds require balanced voice levels. We ensured every episode maintained consistent audio quality across all streaming platforms.
